Our lovely village hall is situated in the peaceful rural village of Dunsden, just to the north east of Reading.  Dunsden is one of a group of hamlets that make up the South Oxfordshire parish of Eye & Dunsden, the others being Playhatch and Sonning Eye.

The hall's big make-over is nearly complete, and the grand re-opening is this Saturday, May 5th!

Please join the party between 4 and 6pm when tea and cakes will be served. There will be an exhibition of wildlife photography by Bill Pound, the unveiling of a bust of war poet Wilfred Owen, readings of his work and the performance of 'Red Kite' a new piece of music specially commissioned by John Timms.

As a young man, Britain's best known war poet Wilfred Owen was lay assistant to the vicar at Dunsden Church; he helped run the school which is our hall today. Later he served as a soldier in WW1 and lost his life in Ors, northern France one week before the end of the war. An association has been formed to commemorate his link with the community. Dunsden is also the home of the award winning Loddon Brewery, established in 2002.
