for the OneFamily Foundation award and the results are announced on 14th December.  We are hoping to secure a grant of £25,000 for a new kitchen and faced stiff competition from some large organisations nationwide in a 'winner takes all' vote.

Fireworks went with a bang!

Our fabulous Fireworks went off to a chorus of 'ooos' and 'aaahs' and bellies were filled with a selection of home-cooked (OK, technically 'hall' cooked) hot dogs and the bar was drunk dry of beer!  We raised in excess of £2,000; which is amazing - thank you to everyone who came and a very special thanks to all our lovely volunteers - same time next year?!

Join our friendly team!

Would you like to contribute to your community and join the village hall team?

We'd value your support - whether you'd like to become a Trustee or indeed simply volunteer at one of our events.

The Trustees meet approx. 10 times per year and help make decisions on the future of the hall - how it's run, events, fundraising and improvement works; we welcome new faces and ideas.  The Trustees work closely with our Hall Manager and the team who carry out the day to day jobs at the hall.   Future aims are to expand the range of events that we host and we are about to embark on ambitious plans to modernise the buildings for the local community.  Why not join us at one of our monthly meeting to see what it's all about - no obligation!

We always welcome volunteers at events - be that marshalling cars, propping up serving behind the bar, selling tickets or even project managing a new event.  We appreciate practical skills like helping keep our grounds in order too if you have a few hours to spare and like gardening.

If you think you can help in any capacity, we'd love to hear from you - please contact

A very enjoyable open air theatre production of The Canterbury Tales took place on the field on Wednesday, 13th July.  Performed by The Pantaloons who entertained us last year with Much Ado About Nothing it was a great success and welcome return.  We hope they'll be back again in 2017!

Our Bat Talk & Walk was on Wednesday, 20 July.  After the presentation in the hall, where children met and fed Pippa the bat, we listened for bats in the local countryside as they hunted for insects.  A fascinating insight into the life of a shy and often misunderstood creature.
