Our Improvement Works have started!

They've been a long time coming... and finally our much needed improvement works started on 10th July!  The sheds came down... and we found a beautiful foundation stone hiding behind one!  This will now be a feature in the new extension to the Main Hall.  We're very excited about the project that will see a new reception area that links the halls together; an extended Main Hall with impressive views over the beautiful countryside; new kitchens and bathrooms; energy efficient underfloor heating and double-glazed windows to make it super-cosy in Winter and a new outdoor store with WCs for people wanting to hire our lovely paddock.  Don't worry though... we're maintaining the beautiful character of the old Victorian School House - so we'll still have the stunning vaulted ceilings and period brickwork.

We've got amazing support from the local community and day one kicked off with a meeting with our flexible friends, contractors 2M and our super supplier of building materials - Peppard Building Supplies.

It's a massive project, so our lovely Main Hall will be closed for the duration... until the end of October at least.  There may be some availability in our smaller hall, the Palmer Room, during the Summer - please email for details.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to our new improved facilities later in the year.  Why not plan ahead for 2018!  We've already got a couple of weddings booked in - and with our lovely enclosed garden, the hall is the perfect venue for children's parties.

Beer and Curry Evening/Auction at Loddon Brewery

Saturday 10th June marked the culmination of our fundraising 'Auction of Promises' with a sell-out 'Beer & Curry Evening' at Loddon Brewery.  It was a great night and we've had wonderful feedback from people lucky enough to get tickets:

'Had a fabulous time at the Beer and Curry Evening at the Loddon Brewery'.

'Yes we loved it. Good food great company and.....A helicopter ride!'

Final proceeds from the evening are yet to be confirmed, but we can announce that the auction lots made a stunning £4,372!!  It was such a success we're considering making this a regular event...

We would like to say a few big 'Thank you's:

To our hosts, Loddon Brewery - what a spectacular venue, not to mention the beer!  To the Himalaya Momo House (Caversham) for the amazing food - if you haven't tried it, you are missing out!  To all the incredibly kind and imaginative donors of Auction lots; the generous bidders and of course - our tireless team of hardworking volunteers.  THANK YOU so very much; this wonderful event could not have gone ahead without you.

Join our friendly team!

We'd value your support - whether you'd like to become a Trustee or indeed simply volunteer at one of our events.   The Trustees meet approx. 10 times per year and help make decisions on the future of the hall - how it's run, events, fundraising and improvement works; we welcome new faces and ideas.

If you think you can help in any capacity, we'd love to hear from you - please contact
